Ms Aaragon is the founder of Cinco Vidas , a lifestyle company for cancer survivors and families and caretakers forr cancer survivors. She is also a survivor of lymphoma which struck when she was 16.
This book is aimed at a mainly female audience, but there is info men can use as well. It is unlike any other cancer book on the market as it does not dwell on the disease, it focuses on the "ease" portion of the word. A good deal of the book is devoted to attitude and positive thinking, but the majority of the book is about being a good consumer. There is a great deal of information of caring for skin and hair and choosing a replacement for your hair as well. It has a wealth of information on product ingrediants to avoid not only cosmetics wise but environmentally. It also goes into alternitive therapies, common problems and solutions for them and physical and emotional fitness. The book is well researched, footnoted, reliable, and an easy read you can pick up and put down and not be lost if you are having a chemo brain day.
With so many clinical cancer books out there, or so many Chicken Soup type books, this book When Cancer Hits, is a refreshing read and well worth your time. Its about giving you YOU time. A lot of times as cancer survivors we forget to pamper ourselves a little. Its ok to be strong and look your best doing so. I recommend anyone going through chemo or radiation to give this book a read, there is something valuable to take away and you will refer to it over again, I promise. Its not about disease, its about THRIVING.
