As 2017 comes to a close, we naturally reflect back on what the years have brought to us. We have been blessed with an amazing staff, nearly half of whom are cancer survivors themselves. We are honored and humbled to have connected with so many of you through emails, phones calls, and social media. We have laughed with you, cried with you, and we have celebrated you. Your strength and courage continue to give us hope.
Our Humble Beginnings
When we began Choose Hope back in 1999, there were just the three of us – one survivor, one battling cancer, and one caregiver. We came together making buttons around the kitchen table. Our goals were simple; bring laughter and humor to the chemo room, while raising money for cancer research. We are proud of what we have been able to accomplish through sheer will and the determination to find a cure.
The Early Years
Along the way, we lost Chris to cancer (2003), and it would have been so easy to simply stop and go our own ways. But we knew that this torch had been passed on to us for a reason, so the survivor and the caregiver moved forward, hoping to touch others’ lives as ours had been touched by Chris.
A Growing Business
As the business grew, we realized the need to acknowledge all cancers. After all, cancer is cancer – there isn’t any one that is more or less challenging. We expanded our product lines to include everything from wristbands and jewelry to t-shirts and gift sets, all designed by cancer survivors for survivors. We pride ourselves on being a good resource for our customers, many of whom have no idea where to begin when someone they love has been newly diagnosed or is going through treatment.
We are so proud to say that we’ve donated over $960,000 (and counting with your generous support) to fund research for all cancers. We give because it’s who we are at our very core–a passionate company that’s in business to end cancer.
In Faith, Hope, Love and Healing,
From our Family to Yours
