Alice’s Survivor Story

I was first diagnosed in January 2024. How I got diagnosed was odd because I really didn’t have any symptoms. It was an incidental finding. I simply contacted my primary physician for a refill on a hormone patch for menopause which I had been on. He indicated that since it had been over 6 months, I would need to go in to see him which I did.  He asked me how I was, and I told him fine which I was. The only thing I could complain about was that I got full right away when eating. So, he ordered an abdominal ultrasound, from there it was an MRI. The radiologists kept saying it was a hemangioma until I had a CT scan and that radiologist said it did not look normal. I ended up being sent to UCSD thank God. The first oncologist I met with said that there was nothing that he could do except make me comfortable. Him and his set of nurses said there was no surgery that could be done. I started chemo anyways and changed over to another oncologist. God was in this story because the second oncologist looked at my scans and said this is fixable! After 2 major surgeries and 4 months of chemotherapy -8 rounds of chemo I am cancer free! Praise God. Fight, fight fight . Do not believe it when they tell you there is nothing that can be done. I didn’t believe it and look at me now
