I have been treated with 5 different cancers in the past 5 years.
In 2017 I was diagnosed with Gleason 8 prostate cancer. I received 28 radiation treatments and then prostate brachytherapy where the surgeon inserted 130 radioactive seeds in my prostate.
In 2018 I was diagnosed with lung cancer and underwent surgery to remove the lower lobe of my right lung.
In 2019 I was diagnosed with cancer in my bladder and underwent surgery to scrape the cancer from my bladder walls.
In 2020 I was diagnosed with bone cancer, which had spread from my lung cancer and caused a vertebral compression fracture, which severed my T9 vertebra. I received another 30 radiation treatments and then 7 chemo treatments. I also had kyphoplasty surgery to cement the vertebra back together.
In 2021 I was diagnosed with another tumor in my bladder, which was also attached to my prostate. I had surgery to remove the tumor this past spring. This past summer they determined that my severed T9 vertebra caused my T8 & T10 vertebras to sever and more surgery was needed to repair them.
It has been a very rough 5 years for me and my wife, but we have not let cancer win and at present I am cancer free.
You have to keep fighting and not let cancer win.
