Becky, cancer survivor sharing story

Becky’s Story

In 2017 I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Her2- Breast Cancer in my right breast with a group of pre-cancerous calcifications. My doctor ordered an MRI of my left breast because she wanted to make sure we weren’t missing anything. It detected a mass twice as big as the mass on the right side.

I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Her2+ Breast Cancer in my left breast with a group of pre-cancerous nodules. I went thru chemo & had a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction. I thank God every day for my doctor ordering the MRI. The mass on the left side was aggressive and had been previously undetected by mammogram due to dense breast tissue. They looked back thru 3 years of mammograms to see if it had been missed. It didn’t show in any of my mammograms, only on the MRI. I’m so thankful for the persistence, knowledge & expertise of my doctor.
