Twenty days after celebrating my 45th Birthday & 1 week after my biopsy I received a call from my GP with my diagnosis of Stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma. However, I would not know the true diagnosis until I met with the cancer surgeon days before my scheduled mastectomy I was immediately placed on the emergency Cancer Care list and from that point on my Cancer Journey started. I have continually kept a positive mood and have taken time to thank the women in my life who have taught me to be strong, like my Mother who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 83 and sadly lost her battle to it and my aunt (my mother’s sister) who lost both breast to cancer and never complained.
