Inspiring Hope Bracelet

  A few weeks ago when I saw the NHL's Fight Against Cancer campaign, I decided that wearing a rubber wrist-band was a good way to show my support for those fighting cancer. Doing a quick google search, I found Choose Hope and was very happy to see the wide variety of wrist-bands with so many different colors for the different cancer types. I chose lavender for all cancers. At $2 per wrist-band, it's a small price to pay for the message it sends.

I ordered three, just because it wasn't that much money and the shipping would be the same. Plus, I wanted to be sure I had extras, as I plan on wearing them as long as possible. The order process was great, shipping was timely and the order tracking process worked well. When I got the package, I immediately put on the wrist-band. However, I was bummed that the first band broke as I tried to slide it over my hand. I weigh 165 and my hand isn't that big, so I was sort of surprised (and glad I bought three). I grabbed the 2nd wrist-band and it went on fine and has been on my wrist ever since.

Under normal circumstances, I would be upset that any product I bought would break the first time I try to use it. However, at only $2 and for the good cause it stands for, it is a non-issue. The only reason I mention it is for Choose Hope to get the information, so that they can use the information to maybe improve the product in the future. I don't want the product replaced, as I would prefer for those few dollars (product + shipping) to stay with the organization to better the cause. If/when my two bands wear out or break, I will re-order from Choose Hope because of the good they are doing to raise awareness for all types of cancer, the reasonable price and the fact that these types of initiatives need to continue.

Plus, as my wrist-band says, "Cancer Sucks" and we need to do everything we can to stop, as I call it, "the devil's disease".

  The ribbons are perfect colors, stick well and were exactly what I needed to label all my hats! I nested the orange and the green because I am in temporary remission from lymphocytic leukemia, so I needed both colors. 6 years NED Melanoma!

  I bought my Mom a few Ovarian Cancer bracelet when we found out she had cancer. I also wanted to have something teal to wear so I got myself a "cancer Sucks" bracelet. Soon after I had got mine I found out that my good friends, Dad was diagnosed with a rare case of Melanoma so I told her about this website and she told me she ordered herself a few bracelets. The next time I saw her she was wearing a Black "Cancer Sucks" bracelet for her Dad and a teal one for my Mom. She also bought me a Black one to wear for her Dad. So now we match and every time I see her it's comforting to know that shes there for me and I'm there for her.

It gives me a chance to share about all the OTHER cancers (most know about breast, lung, and melanoma--but pancreatic, carcinoid, and bone...not so much.   I wanted a key chain/ring that not only showed my support for those warriors bravely fighting, but to also showed my own strength of survival. After completing chemotherapy ABVD, for Hodgkin's Lymphoma 3 years ago, I made this purchase, and am glad I did. this was exactly what I wanted, and the color of purple is vibrant and the material is good quality.   Love this little bracelet. The price is very reasonable and it is very comfortable to wear when working on the computer or doing anything like writing where your wrist is in constant contact with a hard surface. Some bracelets have sharp beads on them that cut into your wrist. This one is great buy.

Be Aware Ribbon Bracelet

  I love this product as it says what anyone touched by cancer knows - cancer does indeed suck! Choose Hope's products brought comfort to my Mom, myself, and our whole family during my Mom's blessedly short struggle with lung cancer (2006). And they still bring me comfort today, as I remember my Mom. I bought it for lung cancer awareness month (November) but will wear it year-round to honor my Mom's memory.
